Grand National-winning jockey Ryan Mania could leave hospital today following a fall he suffered at Hexham on Sunday.
The Scotsman was initially thought to be remaining under medical care for a further 24 hours, but it has since emerged that the 23-year-old could be discharged today following an MRI scan.
"I've spoken to him in the last half an hour, he's in good spirits and is hoping to go home today," said Mania's agent Bruce Jeffrey.
"He's still waiting for that scan, which will hopefully be okay. If it is, he will then be able to go home later today."
Mania suffered the fall just a day after winning the Grand National with 66-1 outsider Auroras Encore.
