Every midweek game in the Championship will reportedly be shown live by Sky Sports starting from next season.

As previously reported, the broadcaster is thought to have retained the rights to the EFL in a deal worth £120m a season, a rise from the current £88m-a-year deal.

Details of the agreement were hitherto sketchy but according to The Times, Sky has agreed a five-year deal with the EFL meaning that it will be the exclusive UK home for Championship, League One and League Two games, as well as EFL competitions, until 2024.

As part of the contract Sky will be able to show every midweek match from the Championship - some 96 games a season - live via its interactive service. Although the new deal is not due to kick in until 2019, the newspaper reports that the existing contract has been amended in order for Sky to begin broadcasting midweek games from next season.

Outside of the midweek games, Sky will broadcast up to 150 EFL games per season live - as well as all 15 playoff games, 15 games from the EFL Cup and the semi-finals and final of the EFL Trophy.

All EFL clubs across all three divisions will also be given the opportunity to broadcast their own midweek games live on their websites as part of the new agreement.
