The Massachusetts State Police have confirmed that evidence was found at the apartment of Aaron Hernandez that could link him to the murder of Odin Lloyd.
Hernandez was arrested a week ago and the police have since admitted that a sweatshirt, baseball cap and gun ammunition was found in a raid of the player's apartment.
"This sweatshirt is consistent in colour and type with the sweatshirt that Hernandez is observed to be wearing on surveillance cameras the night of the homicide," NFL.com quotes the police as saying.
"The baseball hat could help provide whereabouts of Hernandez on the Friday night before the homicide. This night in particular is a critical aspect in the timeline of events leading up to the homicide."
The bullets found were reportedly five boxes of .45-calibre ammo, which matched the weapon used to kill Lloyd.
