British tennis star Laura Robson has confirmed that she is safe and unhurt after being part of the crowd that was targeted by a gunman during a concert in Las Vegas.
The 23-year-old was attending a country music festival on the Vegas strip when a lone gunman opened fire from the 32nd floor of the nearby Mandalay Bay Hotel.
Around 22,000 people were at the open-air concert and local police have confirmed that at least 58 have been killed, while more than 500 suffered injuries.
Robson, who lost in the quarter-finals of the ITF tournament in California last Friday, confirmed to friends on Twitter that she was safe but "in shock" following the incident.
The British number five wrote: "I'm OK. We were right there..sounded like fireworks at first then everyone started running. Scary.
"My friend who was deeper in the crowd has been helping people who were shot. We're all in shock."
The tragedy has gone down as the deadliest mass shooting in modern US history.
