Former British heptathlete and 400m runner Kelly Sotherton has confirmed that her stolen Commonwealth gold medal has been found.
The 38-year-old appealed to fans on Twitter last month after discovering that her medal had been swiped from her home while she and her family were sleeping.
The BBC highlighted the theft on an episode of Crimewatch this week, and Sotherton has revealed that after the programme aired, her medal was found.
This morning, the former athlete tweeted: "Update: my medal was found in a postbox the morning after @BBCCrimewatch...what a great result! #found"
Nine AAA British medals and six Island Games medals were also stolen during the burglary.
