British Olympic diver Tom Daley has announced his engagement to long-term boyfriend Dustin Lance Black.
The couple went public with their romance over a year and a half ago, shortly after Daley revealed via a YouTube video that he was in a same-sex relationship.
Now, it has been announced in The Times' births, marriages and deaths section that 21-year-old Daley and Oscar-winning director Black, 41, are betrothed.
The notice read: "The engagement is announced between Tom, son of Robert and Debra Daley of Plymouth, and Lance, son of Jeff Bisch of Philadelphia and Anne Bisch of Lake Providence."
Black won an Academy Award in 2008 for best original screenplay for the film Milk, which is based on the real story of gay rights activist Harvey Milk, the first openly homosexual man voted into public office in California.
