David Beckham and his wife Victoria reportedly bumped into former France president Nicolas Sarkozy ahead of PSG's match against Marseille last week.

David Beckham and his wife Victoria reportedly bumped into former France president Nicolas Sarkozy ahead of the midfielder's Paris Saint-Germain game.

Sarkozy, who is said to be a regular spectator at PSG's games, is thought to have approached the couple along with his wife Carla Bruni before the French side's match against Marseille last week.

"You know, I'm 58 years old and I never dreamed I would see Beckham playing alongside [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic in the French league," Sarkozy told Beckham, according to magazine Valeurs Actuelles.

Beckham signed for PSG in January on a five-month contract.
