London rapper M.I.A. is being threatened with legal action by Paris Saint-Germain after she wore a modified version of the club's shirt in one of her music videos.

Les Parisiens took offence at a scene in the video for 'Borders', a song about the Syrian migrant crisis, in which M.I.A. is seen wearing a modified version of the PSG shirt with the words "Fly Pirates" in place of the sponsored branding "Fly Emirates".

In a letter sent to M.I.A.'s record label Universal, PSG's deputy CEO Jean Claude Blanc wrote: "More than being surprised, we simply do not understand why we are associated, through our logo and the official jersey of our team's players, in such denunciation.

"We consider that the use of our brand and image in a video clip denouncing the treatment of refugees is a source of discredit to our club and distorts its public communication policy."

M.I.A. is best know for her 2008 hit 'Paper Planes'.
