Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo has been honoured by having a newly-discovered galaxy named after him.
Astronomers at the European Southern Observatory named the galaxy Cosmos Redshift 7, but gave it the nickname CR7 in tribute to the Ballon d'Or winner.
According to ESPN, the group of astronomers, led by David Sobral of the University of Lisbon, have said that the new galaxy is "three times brighter than the brightest distant galaxy known up to now".
Ronaldo finished the season trophyless with Madrid.
