Scottish high jumper Jayne Nisbet reveals that her weight dropped to seven stone during a battle with bulimia.

Scotland high jumper Jayne Nisbet has revealed that bulimia prevented her from competing at the Commonwealth Games in Delhi four years ago.

The 25-year-old admitted that her weight dropped to just seven stone at the height of her battle with the illness.

She told the Daily Record: "Four years ago for Delhi, I was suffering really badly from injury and illness. My really bad bulimia was one of the reasons I didn't go.

"People say they don't understand why you'd be so worried about how you look but I think when you are wearing a crop top and pants on television, if you are even a little bit overweight, you are going to get criticised. I became really aware of the other high jumpers. I thought, 'All those other girls look lighter than me, that's how I need to jump higher'.

"When I lost weight and then started to put it back on, people would say I looked healthy. I thought, 'If they said I looked healthy, that meant overweight'. I would be like, 'No, I look fat', and take more control and manipulate my food even more to be lighter."

Nisbet finished seventh in the final in front of her home crowd in the high jump at Hampden Park earlier this week.
