Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has treated 50 of his players and coaching staff to a "team-bonding" meal at an Argentinian restaurant.

The North London side have had a slow start to the new season in their new temporary home of Wembley, dropping seven points from a possible nine at home, while winning both of their away fixtures to date.

Speaking to reporters at his weekly presser, Pochettino revealed that he had paid for a trip to The Beast restaurant in Marylebone, treating his team to the finest Argentine wine and Spanish steak, in an attempt to foster closer relations. All five of the club's summer signings were present, as was Spurs chairman Daniel Levy.

"I paid the bill at the end! That is true," Pochettino told reporters. "When I pay, I pay good! Good restaurant, good food, good win.

"To work tactically here in the morning or to go last night and put all the staff, the players and the chairman in a restaurant, that is tactics, too.

"It is so important, just as it is important to work on the pitch. To know better in between them, to speak in a different way. That creates links between them, emotion. And when you must fight in a competition, there's willingness to help your teammates more - and care more for the gaffer that pays the bill!"

Pochettino takes his side to the London Stadium tomorrow afternoon for a capital derby with West Ham United.
