Olympic gold medallist Linford Christie has revealed that he rejected the chance to be a contestant on this season's BBC reality show Strictly Come Dancing.
The 55-year-old, who competed for Great Britain in major competitions across eight years, has claimed that he turned down the offer as he lacks rhythm on the dance floor.
"I didn't fancy it because I'm not a good dancer," the Daily Star quotes Christie as saying. "I'm the only black guy you'll meet with two left feet.
"I spent so much time training in my youth that I missed out on dancing. I'd love to be able to dance."
Christie, who won Olympic gold in the 100m at Barcelona 1992, was banned from competition after failing a drugs test in 1999.
