Six-time gold medallist Sir Chris Hoy has dismissed speculation that has linked him with a role on The X Factor.
It had been claimed that the Scottish cyclist would act as a mentor to some of the contestants on the show.
However, the 36-year-old is adamant that he will not be appearing on any reality show.
"Some amusing stories in press about me being a mentor on X-Factor; that's the first I've heard about it! #dontbelievethehype!" he wrote on Twitter. "And no I'm not doing Strictly either!!"
Fellow Brits Jessica Ennis and Mo Farah have also been linked with roles on the show.
