Tennis star Grigor Dimitrov has admitted that he initially felt 'discouraged' when attempting a cliff dive in Acapulco.
The 23-year-old Bulgarian decided to visit the official diving site with Daniela Hantuchova and Santiago Gonzalez ahead of this week's Abierto Mexicano Telcel.
After watching the professional divers in action, Dimitrov wanted to have a go himself at the 35-metre drop.
"A lot was going through my mind," Dimitrov told atpworldtour.com. "The first was preparation. It was all about preparation.
"The first time you look down, you sort of discourage yourself, but at the same time, I was really composed. I like extreme sports in general, so today was a really good day for me!"
Dimitrov moved back into the top 10 world rankings this week.
