Jockey JT McNamara has been put into an "induced coma" following a fall at the Cheltenham Festival.
The 37-year-old amateur Irish rider came off the horse Galaxy Rock at the first fence in the Fulke Walwyn Kim Muir Challenge Cup.
Following the incident, McNamara was airlifted to Frenchay Hospital in Bristol.
"I've been told that JT McNamara is in an induced coma at the moment," his uncle Andrew McNamara is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.
Racing on the third day of the festival was postponed for 30 minutes as the jockey was treated by medical staff.
