Odds-on favourite Sprinter Sacre proved the form book correct by winning the Queen Mother Champion Chase at the Cheltenham Festival this afternoon.
With three fences to go, it turned into a two-horse race as Sizing Europe with AE Lynch on board was given the encouragement to hit the front. Sprinter Sacre followed and the duo soon streaked ahead of the rest of the field.
However, as they cleared the bend, Nicky Henderson-trained seven-year-old Sprinting Sacre began to leave his rival in his wake, before eventually crossing the finishing post a full 19 lengths ahead of Sizing Europe.
The victory means that the French-bred horse, who was ridden by Barry Geraghty, has still not been defeated over fences.
With Sizing Europe in second, Wishfull Thinking claimed third.
