Mahmood Al Zarooni has lodged an appeal against his eight-year suspension from horse racing.
The Godolphin trainer was handed the punishment last month by the British Horseracing Authority after 15 horses under his guidance tested positive for anabolic steroids.
However, the governing body have now revealed that the 37-year-old has appealed against the severity of the ban.
As yet, no date has been set for the hearing, which is likely to take place in London.
