Former BBC racing broadcaster Julian Wilson has died, aged 73, following a long battle with illness.
Wilson suffered a relapse in his fight against prostate cancer last year, having initially been diagnosed with the disease in 1992, and passed away on Sunday evening.
He was the face of the BBC's racing coverage for over 30 years and was a regular on the Grand National commentary team until his retirement in 1997.
Claire Balding, who worked alongside Wilson, and then succeeded him, tweeted this tribute: "Very sad news. I owe Julian Wilson my first break in TV and will forever be grateful."
Wilson also owned a number of horses, including 1977 Gimcrack Stakes winner Tumbledownwind.
