The future of racehorse Kauto Star has not yet been decided, the 12-year-old's owner Clive Smith has confirmed.
After pulling up in yesterday's Cheltenham Gold Cup, a retirement looked all but certain but Smith has hinted there is a chance that the veteran could yet return to action.
Smith made the comments after Kauto Star was paraded at Paul Nicholls's Ditcheat stable alongside Cheltenham winners Rock On Ruby and Big Buck's on Saturday afternoon.
"The three horses paraded at Ditcheat and it all went very well," Smith said.
"Kauto looked very fresh and he just looked as though he hadn't done anything.
"We're just going to put him out to grass - as we would have done whatever decision had been made. We're not going to rush into anything."
The 12-year-old has won the Gold Cup twice, in 2007 and 2009.
