Tony McCoy has admitted that it felt good to be back in the saddle after registering a win on his first ride in three weeks.
The 19-time champion jockey had been suffering with a rib injury but he returned to action on Wednesday afternoon by riding Southfield Royale to victory at Fontwell.
The 40-year-old is quoted by the Racing Post as saying: "It's good to be back. I missed riding.
"I'm very lucky to have good people looking after me and helping me get better. I have had a great team to help me and have to thank the staff at Oaksey House."
After proving his fitness, McCoy will now attempt to win the Hennessy Gold Cup on Merry King at Newbury this weekend.
