Black Caviar became the first mare to win the Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot for over 20 years this afternoon.
The Australian horse, making her debut on English soil, was the odds-on favourite to win the race with Luke Nolen on board.
With around three furlongs to go, Black Caviar made a move for the front of the pack.
She appeared to be heading for a comfortable victory until 30 yards from the line, where Nolen appeared to ease the six-year-old up. That allowed Moonlight Cloud to mount a late challenge, a photo finish being required to determine a winner.
Having studied the evidence, the race was awarded to Black Caviar by a head.
Today's triumph is the horse's 22nd successive victory.
