Great Britain have stormed to gold in the women's coxless pair at the Rio Olympics this afternoon.
The team of Helen Glover and Heather Stanning successfully defended their Olympic title in style, romping to a second successive gold in the event.
Glover and Stanning wasted little time in stamping their mark on the race, quickly establishing a dominant lead over the first 1,000m.
The British duo, who are unbeaten since 2011, held off the challenges of New Zealand and Denmark as they fought back towards the closing stages and entered their own mini-battle for silver.
Denmark were forced to settle for the bronze in the end, while USA finished four seconds further back in fourth.
