Huddersfield Giants forward Larne Patrick has been ruled out for 12 weeks with a serious knee injury.
The 25-year-old dislocated his kneecap and suffered medial ligament damage on Friday during his side's 24-8 win over Wigan Warriors in the Super League.
"It's a shame it wasn't such a good night for Larne," Huddersfield coach Paul Anderson is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.
"We've got the best medical staff in the competition, so we know he'll get the right treatment."
The Giants continue their Super League season on February 23 when they entertain Hull Kingston Rovers.
