Jarryd Hayne has sensationally quit Rugby League and has announced his intention to pursue a career in the NFL.
The 26-year-old has enjoyed a successful career in Australia's NRL, representing New South Wales in State of Origin football and playing for the Kangaroos since making his international debut in 2007.
However, the Parramatta Eels winger has decided to turn his back on the sport in a bid to find success in Gridiron.
He told the Eels' official website: "Today I can officially announce that I will be heading to the United States to pursue an opportunity to play American Football.
"I will be withdrawing from the Kangaroos Four Nations side immediately, and accepting a conditional release from the Eels to make the move overseas.
"It's always been a dream of mine to play in the NFL, and at my age, this is my one and only chance at having a crack at playing there."
One News has reported that Hayne met with the Super Bowl champions, Seattle Seahawks, last month.
The Kangaroos kick off their Four Nations campaign against New Zealand in Brisbane on October 25.
