Wakefield Trinity Wildcats went within a point of Hull KR and Bradford in the race for a top-eight finish in the Super League following a thrilling 33-32 victory over St Helens on Sunday.
Wakefield led at the break thanks to tries from Lee Smith, Andy Raleigh and Danny Kirmond's brace, and Paul Sykes snatched two precious points for the hosts with a last-gasp drop goal.
The victory extends Wakefield's winning streak to four games on the back of three derby wins against Huddersfield, Leeds and Castleford.
As for St Helens, they have now lost two consecutive games for the first time since March's four-game losing run.
