Gloucester Rugby director of rugby Nigel Davies has admitted that his side's defeat to Sale Sharks in their opening game of the Aviva Premiership season was 'humiliating'.
A close contest between the teams at Kingsholm Stadium on Saturday saw the visitors come out 22-16 winners.
"We've got to lick our wounds a little bit," Davies told the league's official website. "And we are wounded - we're humiliated.
"But that's the nature of the sport. It's the last thing we wanted at home, but we've got to deal with it head-on now."
Gloucester have the chance to return to winning ways next Sunday when they travel to Saracens.
