Scotland captain Greig Laidlaw says that the team can win the Six Nations tournament.

Scotland captain Greig Laidlaw believes that the team can win the Six Nations this year.

The Gloucester centre says that confidence is high in the Scotland camp following five victories in the last seven Tests.

"Obviously we want to win as many games as we can and we want to win the championship, just like every other team," Laidlaw told BBC Sport.

"We're under no illusions, it's going to be tough, especially the first game away in Paris.

"In the past, we've probably fell a little bit short. Desperately, we want to turn those fortunes round."

Scotland open their Six Nations campaign away to France on Saturday, before hosting Wales and Italy at Murrayfield. They travel to Twickenham and close the tournament against Wales.

The team's last tournament victory was in the 1999 Five Nations.
