Irada Ashumova has admitted that she will have to improve in order to earn a medal in the women's 25m air pistol at the European Games.
Ashumova, a former Olympic bronze medallist, missed out on qualification for the 10m air pistol final, but the experienced shooter believes that if she performs to her best, she can earn a medal for Azerbaijan on Saturday.
The 57-year-old told reporters: "I am a realistic person and I knew that it would be so hard to get good results amongst these masters.
"Without training, it is impossible to get anything. This amazing shooting centre (Baku Shooting Centre) has been opened just a few months ago and we could not train well.
"I have got good results from 25m air pistol event in different competitions and I am 11th in the current European ranking list. Hopefully, I will do better in this event and get a medal."
Serbia's Zorana Arunovic won gold in the final of the 10m event.
