Caroline Povey says that she is delighted to have emulated her father by winning a medal at the Commonwealth Games.

England shooter Caroline Povey has said that she is "absolutely delighted" to have followed in her father's footsteps and win a medal at the Commonwealth Games.

Povey edged out New Zealand's Natalie Rooney in this afternoon's trap event to seal bronze and add to her family's rich history of Games success.

Her father Joe Neville shot his way to a gold and silver medal in Edinburgh back in 1986, and Povey is overjoyed to have emulated him in Glasgow today.

"It was very nerve-wracking but I just had to try to stay focused, keep it one target at a time and I'm absolutely delighted to win a bronze medal," she told BBC Sport.

"Dad won gold and silver the last time the Games were in Edinburgh so when I found out I was coming to Glasgow 2014 it was always the aim and now we've got all three from the Games in Scotland.

"It will make the whole family so proud."

The event was won by Australian Laetisha Scanlan, while Georgia Konstantinidou of Cyprus took silver.
