British skeet shooter Elena Allen has revealed that she is 'devastated' not to have made the Olympic final as she could only manage 14th from 17 in the qualifier.
Allen matched her disappointing finish in Beijing and the 40-year-old has put the day down to nothing going right for her and the mental side of her game.
"It's just devastating. Nothing seemed to go right today," Allen said.
"We don't normally have crowds and we certainly don't have people clapping. I was ready for it. I was just working very hard at not letting it affect me, which is the wrong approach.
"Then it just goes from bad to worse. This is a mental game."
Allen only managed a score of 60 out of a possible 75.
