Amateur snooker player John Sutton has been suspended over alleged betting offences.
An investigation was launched in relation to an International Championship match in Barnsley between Sutton and Jamie Burnett last September.
"Under our policy for the global governance of the sport, we treat any potential breach of our betting rules very seriously and I have taken the decision to suspend John Sutton from competition," PA quotes World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association chairman Jason Ferguson as saying.
"This suspension will remain in place until the conclusion of the hearing or hearings and the determination of this matter."
A formal hearing will be held by the WPBSA disciplinary committee on a date that is yet to be decided.
