Ronnie O'Sullivan has confirmed that he will defend his world snooker title this year.
The 37-year-old, who took a break from the sport in November, has battled personal issues in the past few years, in addition to family disputes.
He was ranked ninth at the end of last season, but he has now dropped to 24th due to his absence from several high-profile events.
However, as defending champion, he qualifies as top seed for the world championships in April.
"I was bored - time to get back," Sullivan told reporters.
Should O'Sullivan claim the title in Sheffield, then it will be his fifth Crucible crown.
