Ronnie O'Sullivan needed just two frames to complete his 13-5 victory over Mark Williams at the Crucible this evening.
The three-time world champion went into tonight's session with an 11-5 lead having taken eight out of the 10 frames available on Sunday afternoon.
He wasted little time in extending his advantage and then looked set to wrap up the match with ease when he went 40-0 ahead in the 18th frame.
However, Williams frustrated O'Sullivan with a snooker as the Rocket narrowly avoided an unwanted record of 36 foul points in one visit by hitting a red at the 10th attempt.
From then on O'Sullivan got among the balls and finished off his Welsh opponent with another century total.
The Rockets will now face Australia's 2010 world champion Neil Robertson in the quarter-finals.
