England's squash silver medallist Laura Massaro has admitted that Nicol David was too good for her following the straight-games defeat in this afternoon's final.
The 30-year-old had to settle for second on the podium after losing 12-10 11-2 11-5 to the Malaysia ace, who retained her Commonwealth Games title following a gold in Delhi four years ago.
"My reaction is disappointment," she told BBC Sport. "You want to go into these finals for the gold. Nicol's a champion - I have a lot of confidence when I play her but when she plays a game like that it's very difficult to break her down."
However, England's men are guaranteed a gold in their singles event as Nick Matthew will contest this afternoon's final with compatriot James Willstrop.
