England's Laura Massaro has conceded that she "was not good enough" to win gold in today's women's squash final.
The 30-year-old lost out to reigning Commonwealth Games champion Nicol David 12-10 11-2 11-5 in Glasgow.
"I think Nicol was better. Obviously she was - she won and I didn't," the Daily Mail quotes Massaro as saying. "I'm disappointed. It was 3-0 and it wasn't really close after the first game.
"Ultimately my goal was to try and get a medal and I never put a colour on it. A silver is probably about what I deserved. I'm number two in the world and that performance wasn't good enough for the gold."
Malaysian competitor David has dominated the sport, winning seven of the last nine world titles on offer.
