Emily Seebohm wins gold for Australia at the Commonwealth Games as she breaks the Games record in the women's 100m backstroke to clinch the title.

Australia's Emily Seebohm has clinched the gold medal in the women's 100m backstroke at the Commonwealth Games.

The 22-year-old secured a narrow win in the final as she recorded a time of 59.37 seconds, breaking the Games record.

Seebohm edged out Wales's Georgia Davies by her fingertips as the 23-year-old had to settle for silver with a time of 59.58s, while Australia's Belinda Hocking won the bronze.

England duo Laura Quigley and Elizabeth Simmonds finished in fourth and fifth place respectively.
