Australia's Paralympic swimmer Matthew Cowdrey has insisted that the possibility of claiming his 11th gold medal is not at the forefront of his mind.
Cowdrey has the chance to go one better than Tim Sullivan's record of 10 golds when he takes to the pool in the men's S9 50m freestyle final tonight.
"I'm definitely not thinking about it," The Telegraph quotes Cowdrey as saying. "I've still got four more swims to go, so if it happens it happens.
"If not, then tomorrow night we move on. Tamas [Toth of Hungary] is a young guy that's coming up pretty quickly and he looks like he's swimming pretty quick. A lot of those guys swam the 400 last night, so I think that probably works to my advantage a little bit."
Cowdrey won his heat this morning in a time of 25.63s.
