Ben Proud has admitted that he feels more driven knowing that he is up against a field of 'tough' competitors in the 50m freestyle final.
The England star secured his place in the showdown by winning his semi-final in a Games record of 21.76s.
"It's the toughest I've ever raced against," Proud told Sports Mole. "They're serious competition, but it's driving me a little bit and tomorrow when all eight of us are in the pool going for that one gold, then it's going to bring something new out."
Proud will be joined by Australia's Cameron McEvoy and James Magnussen.
