Olympic silver medallist Michael Jamieson has admitted that he failed to find his focus for the 100m breaststroke semi-final at Glasgow 2014 because he is still struggling with last night's loss.

The Scotsman was beaten by his teammate Ross Murdoch in the 200m breaststroke final at Tollcross yesterday, despite being the overwhelming favourite to take gold.

This evening, Jamieson failed to qualify for the final after finishing 11th overall, while Murdoch finished second behind England's Adam Peaty, who broke the Commonwealth record.

"The 100m is always going to be tough for me, but I should be making the final, definitely," Jamieson told reporters after the semi-final. "I was just really flat today.

"It's easy for people on the outside to say 'get up for it today', but last night was my chance to do what I wanted. I just wasn't able to turn it around today, which isn't great. I just want to try to enjoy it now, and do my best to support the team."

Scotland's Craig Benson also made the final after swimming a sixth-fastest time of 1:01.30.
