Team GB will be in line for medals in the women's 400m individual medley final in Baku this afternoon after strong performances from Abbie Wood and Georgia Coates in the heats.

Wood qualified first overall after clocking a time of 4:45.61, more than a second ahead of her nearest rival, Italy's Ilaria Cusinato (4:46.84).

Meanwhile, Coates, who also made the 100m freestyle semis, claimed the third-fastest time (4:48.06) after finishing first in her heat.

The final will take place at the Baku Aquatics Centre later this afternoon.
