Team GB's Elizabeth Simmonds and Stephanie Proud have made it through to the semi-finals of the women's 200m backstroke at the Olympic Games.
Simmonds got off to an early lead in her heat, but faltered at the final turn and dropped to sixth, before clawing her way up to fourth in the final length.
Her time of 2:10.37 was enough to secure a place among the last 16, where she will be joined by her compatriot.
Proud was seeding into a tough heat with US favourite Missy Franklin and Zimbabwe's Kirsty Coventry, but held her own against the rest to finish fourth.
Her time of 2:10.01 was enough to ensure passage to tonight's semi-finals as the 11th fastest qualifier.
