Great Britain's S9 100m breaststroke bronze medal winner Harriet Lee has admitted that winning her medal was "hard".

Lee, who just claimed third place in this evening's final, was in intensive care in the build-up to the Paralympics and has spoken of her difficulties to even compete.

"[Winning a medal] means everything," she said after the race. "It's been a massive struggle just to get here.

"Four months ago I was in intensive care so to finish off with a medal is amazing. Even during the week I've been really ill. I'm trying to stay well and to get to the blocks has been a battle."

"I had no idea [what was happening around me]. I just wanted to get to the wall; it was hard."

Lee's medal was ParalympicsGB's 117th of a successful Games to date.
