Great Britain have been unable to claim a medal in the men's 4x100m medley relay after finishing fifth.
GB were never truly in contention, although they managed to set a new British record of 4:20.54.
The battle was between China and Russia. Russia led for most of the race but Wang Yinan swam a supreme final leg to pinch gold for China by 0.04s with a world record 4:09.04.
Australia, many people's favourites for gold, could only manage bronze with a time of 4:14.97.
