Great Britain's Robert Welbourn has claimed a place in the men's S10 400m freestyle final after finishing third in his heat.
The British hopeful, who has fingers missing from his left hand, kept up the pressure on his opponents in a tight heat, which included gold-medal favourite Andres Brasil.
Welbourn started off slowly and it was Andre Brasil of Brazil who set the pace and looked comfortable after the first 100m, but it was a tight affair as Welbourn kept on his heels along with Isaac Bouckley of Canada and Lucas Ludwig of Germany.
The Brit managed to launch into third position behind the Canadian and the German with a time of 4:17.13, while Brasil finished in fourth in a time of 4:17.15.
