Great Britain have ended the 2024 World Aquatics Swimming Championships with three medals to their name after the women's 4x100m medley relay team won silver on the final day.

Abbie Wood, Angharad Evans, Eva Okaro and Freya Anderson combined for a total time of 3:47.84, just nine-hundredths of a second ahead of bronze medallists China and over seven seconds behind the USA, who set a new world record en route to the gold.

GB's runners-up finish in the relay represented their only silver medal of the 2024 Championships in Budapest, with the nation failing to win a single gold but also taking home two bronzes through Wood.

The 25-year-old placed third in the women's 200m medley on the opening day, setting a British record in the process, before also clinching the final place on the podium in the corresponding 400m event.

The Brits end the tournament down in 17th in the overall medal table, while the ever-dominant USA have topped the charts for the fifth time in a row, taking home a total of 39 medals including 18 golds.

Neutral Athletes 'B' - swimmers from Russia - finished second in the medal table with six golds and four silvers, while Canada took home four golds, five silvers and six bronzes to wind up in third place overall.

Host nation Hungary, meanwhile, earned two golds and two silvers to place seventh overall.
