Great Britain's Adam Peaty will have a shot at a second breaststroke medal at the World Aquatics Championships after advancing to the final of the 50m event in Qatar.
The 29-year-old, who won the bronze medal in the 100m event, qualified for the 50m showpiece with the fourth-quickest time across the two semi-finals, clocking 26.85 seconds.
Peaty came second in his semi-final, only behind Nicolo Martinenghi of Italy (26.65), while 100m champion Nic Fink (26.77) and fastest qualifier Sam Williamson (26.41) bested the Briton's attempt in the second semi-final.
A three-time 50m world champion from 2015, 2017 and 2019, Peaty - also the reigning Commonwealth Games champion in the event - will be in lane six for Wednesday's final, which is scheduled to start just after 5pm UK time.
Peaty's bronze from the 100m final remains the only swimming medal next to GB's name at the ongoing World Championships, though, as the Brits missed out on medals in the women's 100m backstroke and men's 200m freestyle events.
Lauren Cox and Kathleen Dawson both qualified for the former final but placed fifth and sixth respectively, with Cox clocking 59.60 while Dawson finished nearly a full second behind her compatriot with 1:00.42 on the board.
Nineteen-year-old American Claire Curzan won her first individual world gold medal with a time of 58.29, as Australia's Iona Anderson (59.12) and Canada's Ingrid Wilm (59.18) placed second and third respectively.
Duncan Scott was gunning for glory for GB in the men's 200m freestyle - the event he won Olympic silver in during the 2020 Games - but the 26-year-old also settled for sixth place, finishing in 1:45.86.
The title went to South Korea's Hwang Sun-woo, who posted a time of 1:44.75, edging out Lithuanian silver medallist Danas Rapsys (1:45.05) and American bronze medallist Luke Hobson (1:45.26).
Elsewhere, the USA's Hunter Armstrong added to his 50m backstroke gold from last year with the 100m title this time around, finishing just two-hundredths of a second ahead of Spanish runner-up Hugo Gonzalez.
Italy's Simona Quadarella was crowned women's 1500m freestyle champion for the second time, beating Chinese silver medallist Li Bingjie by over nine and a half seconds with a time of 15:46.99, as Germany's Isabel Marie Gose won the bronze.
Finally, Chinese teenager Tang Qianting clinched her maiden long-course World Championship gold in the women's 100m breaststroke, touching the wall with 1:05.27 on the board, while the Netherlands' Tes Schouten and Hong Kong's Siobhan Haughey settled for silver and bronze respectively.
