Team GB's Daniel Fogg has qualified for the final of the stamina-testing men's 1500m freestyle at the Olympic Games.
The 24-year-old demonstrated strong endurance to overtake Mateusz Sawrymowicz of Poland and come in behind Italy's Gregorio Paltrinieri.
Fogg's time of 14:56.12 was enough to see him through to the last eight, and knock out all but two swimmers from the final heat.
Fellow Briton Dave Davies struggled to keep up with the pace-setters in his heat, and remained in seventh for much of the duration. His finish time of 15:14.77 saw him end up in an overall 16th.
The men's 1500m freestyle final takes place at the Aquatics Centre tomorrow evening.
