Great Britain's Andrew Willis has admitted that he was wary of looking at the scoreboard after touching home in fourth position in the men's 200m breaststroke final.
Willis finished strongly but missed out on a medal by just 0.08 seconds, and after the race he suggested that he had failed to execute his gameplan of trying to control the final.
The 25-year-old told BBC Sport: "I was dreading turning around to see the result. I knew I was up there but the action was happening on the outside of the pool.
"I gave it everything on that last length. I'm not sure I left it too late, I tried to control it."
Dmitriy Balandin took gold for Kazakhstan, with USA's Josh Prenot and Russia's Anton Chupkov winning silver and bronze respectively.
