Team Wales swimmer Jazz Carlin has targeted a medal 'higher than bronze' in the 50m backstroke event at the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
The 23-year-old ended her county's 36-year wait for a Commonwealth swimming medal four years ago in Delhi, but she is now looking to better that achievement in Glasgow.
"I'd really like to improve on my performance from Delhi," Carlin told the South Wales Evening Post. "I'd love to get a higher medal than that, and also medal in the 100m as well.
"I'm so excited. I've been waiting for it for a long time. I'm just going to go out there and do the best I can. I'm really happy with how my season's gone so far. I've put the most work in I ever have in training.
"I'm just hoping that shows when I race and I can come away with a good time. Everyone wants to be on top, that would be the icing on the cake."
Wales have set a medal target of 27 for the 2014 Commonwealths.
