China's Guo Yue and Li Xiaoxia have won gold in the women's team competition after recording a comfortable 3-1 victory over Japan.
Kasumi Ishikawa and Sayaka Hirano of Japan were put on the back foot immediately as the Chinese duo quickly settled to wrap up the first set 11-6 in six minutes.
However, there was more to come from Guo and Li as they moved into cruise control with a set of world-class table tennis to extend their lead.
Japan briefly threatened to force an unlikely comeback when they shocked their opponents with a tight 11-9 triumph in the third set.
The Japanese team's hopes of finding a way back into the match were quickly dashed as the fourth set ended 11-5 in favour of China to give Guo and Li gold.
Singapore secured the bronze medal earlier in the day with a win over South Korea.
